Blockbuster is planning to add (Archos-only compatible) kiosks to their stores. Will they change their stores to better implement this? No is probably the correct answer. The usual stupid conservative thinking will likely win out (and hopefully kill their pathetic business). Anyhow, if they wish to stay in business and pursue their current plan they should learn from a rather impressive company known as RedRoomDVD.
So what’s amazing about RedRoomDVD? It’s because the only thing in a RedRoomDVD store is a bunch of kiosks which you can watch trailers on before renting a movie (burning a DVD). It’s a smart touch and it integrates well. Unfortunately, Blockbuster will likely stick their kiosks in some dark corner of their stores just daring you to use them.
